The lucky winner of our #Power2Consumers photo competition will be handed the keys for a free one-day test drive of the latest in zero-emission motoring.

To be in the running for this prize, all you have to do is answer the question ‘What’s your wish for a sustainable future?’ and have your photo taken by our media partners REVOLVE who will be roaming the two conference venues; around the DG Energy stand (Charlemagne building) and in the Networking Village (Residence Palace).

The vehicle is fitted with the latest fuel cell electric engine, a technology which is driving wider efforts towards a greener, more energy efficient future.

Fuel cells and hydrogen technologies have great potential to decarbonise road transport and diversify energy supplies. Fuelled by hydrogen, fuel cell electric vehicles are comparable to those with internal combustion engines in terms of range, performance and refuelling times, while offering the advantages of electric vehicles.

This new-generation engine is ready for the market and now efforts are underway to promote wider take-up in Europe and beyond. The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) – a unique public-private partnership between the European Commission, Europe’s fuel cell and hydrogen industry and research organisations – is supporting demonstration projects in over 1800 cars and 67 buses, together with 60 hydrogen refuelling stations across Europe.

FCH JU projects are helping to deploy fuel cell technology in leading automobile manufacturers worldwide.  The Joint Undertaking’s involvement in EUSEW 2016 and, in particular, its contribution to the #Power2Consumers photo competition and tombola, are much appreciated.

Mark your calendar for the tombola draw, 16 June!
The winning entry will be revealed during the first coffee break on 16 June at DG Energy’s stand (1) in the presence of Bart Biebuyck, Executive Director of FCH JU, who will hand over the symbolic car keys to a zero-emission Toyota Mirai, an electric car powered by the combination of hydrogen and a fuel cell stack.
