A European Campaign to change the landscape of energy: Sustainable Energy Europe is a European Commission initiative in the framework of the Intelligent Energy - Europe Programme, which will contribute to achieve the European Union's energy policy targets within the fields of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, clean transport and alternative fuels.

Next evaluation deadline for NEW OFFICIAL PARTNERS: 03 July 2009


The European Commission launches Best ICT4EE Project Award.

The aim of the competition is to promote innovation in ICT that will contribute to substantial and measurable improvements in energy efficiency, and that have the potential to provide visible and convincing showcases for investment by business, citizens or both.

This competition is open to all publicly funded research and technological development projects in each of the ICT and energy domains. Projects must have a dedicated website.

The deadline is August 31st 2009. The winner will be announced at the 2010 ICT4EE Event in Brussels.

This initiative follows the success of the High Level Event on ICT for Energy Efficiency (2009 ICT4EE).

Sustainable Energy Cities - Covenant of Mayors


Sustainable Energy Cities take the lead on climate change by signing the Covenant of Mayors initiative. On 10 February 2009, more than 370 cities from thirty countries, together with top representatives of the EU institutions, attended a prestigious signature ceremony which was one of the highlights of the 2009 EU Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels. Until 15 May 2009, 127 more cities have joined the initiative raising the number of signatures to 495 cites.
