Sustainable Energy Days

The Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign promotes local, regional and national energy weeks and days around Europe.

Generally organised at the local, regional or national level, an Energy Day or Week aims to involve the wider public in a wide range of activities related to the production or use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. The types of events may vary, but they normally include activities such as workshops, guided visits and open door days.

European visibility for your local initiative

By adding a European dimension to the Energy Weeks and Days currently carried out, the Sustainable Energy Europe Week expects to generate and encourage greater involvement of key energy actors and strengthen public awareness.

Efforts to showcase the types of activities currently carried out will also inspire other regions and countries to start similar initiatives, as well as valorise existing and successful Energy Days and Weeks. Integrating today’s initiatives under a common umbrella will help lay the foundations of a sustainable future in Europe and beyond!

The Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign combines efforts with the Covenant of Mayors at local level

With the support of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign, the European Commission calls the Cities and supporting structures that have joined the Covenant of Mayors to identify, promote and organise local events that will raise public awareness and help us change the landscape of energy.

All initiatives that become linked to the Campaign are evaluated and approved by the European Commission. For this purpose, there is a short application form to fill in.
